Can you actually prevent an app from using one or more of those permissions? Like can I give it permission to my camera but not to the call log?

Huh? I know lots of people who have bank accounts in other currencies. Any taxes due on them obviously have to be paid in USD but there's no inherent law against it afaik.

I changed my mail server to accept . instead of +'s so now the emails I generate work through pretty much any validation.

Contact your local cogent rep. If your dedicated server is in a building with a cogent feed you can probably get a line to it. I'm not sure their current non sales pricing and that might require a 10Gbps commit.

Good luck changing that in the US. If you got waiters subject to the normal minimum wage then there might be potential. Hopefully you don't take your dislike of a system out on someone forced to work within it.

Given you can get 1Gbps from Cogent for ~1K/mo (at least that's the price I heard last time they were having a sale) that works out to $0.003/GB, so both are making a massive amount of profit.

I think interactive brokers is one of the common choices for people who don't have the resources/money to get direct exchange connections or similar.

Assuming they haven't updated it since I was there, its an auth token that expires after a specific amount of time (I want to say 2 weeks but its been a long time)

When you swipe your credit card it tends to end up batch processed not in real time but yeah that does eventually go through a mainframe. Other than that I agree gooby. :)

I think he means rack mount home servers, those are pretty nuts because of the noise that most rack mount cases make. Figure in a 1U case you normally have at least 4 15K RPM fans going at all times, even if you put it into "quiet" mode its

Do you advocate setting up something like google authenticator (RFC6238 I think?)if you run your own email server or does it make more sense to use client side SSL certificates for that?

The US wouldn't get a cut of that unless the exchange rate really sucked and that £20,000 was worth more than $90,000. Plus any UK taxes you paid on it (assuming there is a taxation treaty between the UK and US) are deductible from your US

Why don't you just drop your packages off at a UPS Store? They seem to do almost all of that stuff for you, obviously for a premium. Obviously you can't do that from your home, but you probably don't have all the tools to do a lot of stuff
