However this was an unsigned int, otherwise it would show up as -6 (as int32 is −(2^31) to 2^31-1), the problem here is just validating the input.

If the differences between css3 and no-css3 is so small as in this test (a few rounded corners, some drop shadows and some tiny gradients), you should totally go with pure css3 since it'll get easier to maintain but still look decent in old

Using a reversed proxy (e.g. nginx's built in, or maybe varnish) is a much easier and dynamic solution then to render things to static files.
