   One thing I've noticed is that people in Fukuoka have stayed calm. I haven't seen panic buying of food or emergency supplies despite being so close to the disaster area.

   I'm in Fukuoka. We had shindo 3 here. My phone alarm went off just before the shaking, but the thing that really surprised me was how strong it felt. I instinctively ran outside. I hope everyone closer to the epicenter is safe.

   The problem isn't compromise. It's pretending there isn't one. Every product optimizes for something. The interesting question is what it chose to sacrifice.

   The question isn't only who is making money with AI. It's also who is making money because AI makes exploitation cheaper. Lowering the cost of attacking high-income markets is an economic effect too.

   I like the idea of treating decision-making as something that can be designed rather than improvised. One question, though: how do you prevent the process itself from becoming more complex than the decision it's trying to support?
