The buck always stops with the platform owners. You don't get to blame users for moderation decisions.

You said you banned me, but what you actually did was reduce my rate limit to 2 comments per rate limit period. You deleted a comment from me where I said that drugs don't let you access extra dimensions or planes of existence, just al

You don't explain the aspect where a certain political group generates way more flaggable content, and then you flag-ban those who flag it, which promotes that content because it is no longer flagged. You also don't explain how 2

Also every mobile phone network ever (with a handful of exceptions) is IPv6-only, with a slow translation layer to reach v4 sites. Your app or website literally runs faster if you use IPv6.

For some background why IoT products will stop being insecure: if you sell one in the EU, you're liable for all the damage your botnet causes. Luckily, common EU home routers have firewalls, even for IPv6. And it's so much easier

It costs eight figures to create the masks (patterns) to use in the process of creating a modern chip. Just because it doesn't cost the eleven figures of the factory itself doesn't make it cheap.

The whole economy will crash. Probably won't be due to China invading Taiwan though. More likely because the president decided to delete their country's world reserve currency status (which is another word for a trade deficit).

It's easy to predict that a bubble will pop, but there's a variance in the timing of approximately half a human lifetime, and if you don't guess that correctly, you throw away yours. Everything that can't go on forever w

Recording makes it easier because you can get people on your side by making it look heroic and cool - for example, see Is-real. It's famously impossible to make an anti-war movie because explosions and machine guns look cool on-screen.

The "DMA cards" used for video game cheating are generic PCIe cards and (at least the one I got) comes with open documentation (schematics, example projects etc).

I recently bought a DMA cheating card because it's secretly just an FPGA PCIe card. Haven't tried to play around with it yet. Seems unlikely you'd emulate a real PCIe card in software because PCIe is pretty high-speed.

We live in a capitalism. If something makes capitalistic sense it happens, otherwise it doesn't. Stuff will not be manufactured locally at great expense when it can instead be imported for free.

To get free stuff you have to get free stuff. Why would you manufacture stuff, at great expense, when you're getting it for free? That makes no capitalistic sense.

Yes, I asked dang by email, and he told me flags from my account have been disabled because I flagged things he agreed with. I think votes are also disabled. The buttons are still there, but they don't do anything.

Dems broadly want Trump-esque policies to be enacted. They don't care if it's them or the republicans enacting those policies. They do need to fill both slots to prevent any danger of a left wing person getting elected.

HN is more tightly controlled than it lets on. User moderation tools are suspended if a user doesn't use them in accordance with a pro-corporate right-wing bias.

Your code runs slower on mobile devices, since (as a rule of thumb) mobile networks are ipv6-only and ipv4 traffic has to pass through a few layers of tunneling.
