Why didn’t you offer any real world usage numbers to illustrate your point? I found this unhelpful.

How is that a weird reply? I literally started the sentence with "I".

I would subscribe to Max if they had a coding agent interface on web like OpenAI's Codex, but without a novel implementation like that the monthly plan doesn't make sense since you can just use API, OpenRouter, etc.

Yea crazy how long it took. Zen browser users have been waiting for them to ship this so it can be used in Zen. Of course they announce this the day I switch to Orion.

Sure, but because of fintech not as many need to get created. Fintech has made it relatively easy for new entrants to work with partner banks through BaaS platforms.

This makes me sad because not only did I get my current job through Hired, but I’ve also recruited several great software engineers through the platform.

Everything is a series of battles and campaigns. If the overall war is a mediocre success, you still have plenty to learn from if you're digging into those.

As a software engineering leader I can appreciate the huge amount of work it took you all to get here. It may not be super flashy because you had to start from scratch and get to feature parity with existing platforms, but IMHO Bluesky has

I think so. Sure, platforms like Threads have the raw numbers and network effects, but Bluesky has an authentic community, a solid team (Dan Abramov from the React team joining was a surprise), and they are making the right product tradeoff

Do you have any friends that can go through a mock interview with you? There are also mentorship platforms that offer this as a service. I am biased since I have been on the mentor side of this, but I think they are well worth the money.

Personally I'd blame HR. It's their job to fully think these things through and make sure they are being executed on in a coherent fashion.

Just my opinion as a hiring manager, but there is ZERO chance that these calls have potential to change the outcome.

Thanks for writing this. I don't remember why I stopped visiting DN a long time ago, but a reduction in quality content makes sense.

Really cool. How would you use config files from other shells like .zshrc? We use direnv and mise to scope binary versions to project directories and just wondering how stuff like that would work.

Wasn't InVision built on something crazy like ColdFusion?

Yea I understand that, but whats the point of that strategy if users don't want to even subscribe to podcasts in the app because how bad the UI is. It's like they've never used a podcast app before.

Instead of investing in massive podcaster deals, they should have just focused on integrating podcasts into the app in a sane way. I would pay more if it were as good as Pocket Casts, but it's nowhere close.

This is actually a great article even though the popups are terrible and I found the first sentence very off-putting.

I definitely see those side projects positively and I'm hiring for my team. It wouldn't matter to me how senior the role you'd be applying for is. Of course, I am also the sort of developer that works on side projects.

I like this direction and I'm rooting for you now but it's tough when I can't even fill out the Basic Information section because of a bug in which the form won't submit even though there are no errors.

Because getting some leads with less certainty is better than getting no leads with higher certainty in a tight market? Wasn't this addressed in the post?
