We have launched this as an experimental viewer for research articles. We convert NLM xml to a custom JSON format, and save these JSON vserions of the articles on an s3 bucket. The web app then displays the article. You can read about the t

We just rolled out the site for our OpenAccess journal - eLife (elife.elifesciences.org). We have a REST api for article metadata, hosted by fluidinfo, and our full article XML is available from a github repo: https://github.com/elifescien

A critical component of the grant application was the proposal to make the notebooks extensible, with concrete plans to work on integrating R, and a strong desire to integrate with Julia.

I in no way disagree with this sentiment, and I am a very big fan of what Scholastica are doing, I had a really great chat to them a few weeks ago. Scientific publishing seems from the outside to not really be making as much use of the web
