Note that interest rates on USDT went down now and now it costs around only 3 % APR to short it. I've been short for a year now and will be fairly rich if Tether burns to the ground.

I think essentially yes, they can't bundle all their apps and services; you have to be able to install their apps and services separately in the unprotected mode. Not very sure though.

See my sibling comment. You can do a permissionless short on Tether on the blockchain for a varying interest rate difference between USDC and USDT. I've been paying approx 2 % a year for the last year now.

You don't on chains such as Polygon, Fantom, etc etc etc. Really only Ethereum is very expensive; you don't have to use it.

Yes, there is essentially no downside. I do it; on Aave you can deposit USDC and borrow USDT against it, earning an interest on USDC and paying interest on the USDT. It currently costs me about 3 APR to short Tether. What's nice is tha
