I no longer have the details, but the music was just some mp3 files I copied from friends. Buffering may have played a role as I had at some point, I had maxed out the specs memory-wise.

I am not sure how it was possible, but I was able to play mp3s on my 386sx 16mhz (with turbo button) using the mpg123 player. OS was Slackware Linux.

Looked at a 6 byte hash today. Modifying the hash or the data attached to it made the API respond with an error saying untrusted input. The data is an encrypted blob and the hash protects it from being tampered with. My guess is that it’s

When i first learned of the 2038 problem, i changed the date on my computer and watched it tick up to 2^32. All sorts of things crashed, most notably, the Norton antivirus software. This was on a windows XP if I recall correctly

It will still be possible to correlate IP addresses and hostnames. You can only hope for plausible deniability provided that the site you are visiting share IP address with a bunch of other sites.

Another neat trick is to add a link in robots.txt and instruct bots to stay away. If they don’t, you add them to your blocklist

Yeah, exactly like this. He showed me the hexdump of the eeprom for an empty password where the space for the password were 0xff’s. Had an empty password been any other value, such as 0x00, this trick would not work
