Exactly. If you want to test military missiles, you do it in the f'ing desert, not from New Jersey. You want to run ai without guardrails, do it in an airgapped system or be held accountable.

The different is who's operating. In one case you only tell the car to get from a to b, in the other case you explicitly instruct the ai to do things. If the ai causes damages, I'd say it depends on what you prompted. Did you try

Indeed, on modern laptops and phones every UI interaction should be instant (check out BeOS in 1995 for comparison). For background stuff, add some progress indicator. Can't believe the crap OSes and frameworks add these days in terms
