I split my usage. Homebrew for OS things mise for the various tooling. The only problem some things still have a dependency on requiring python and others on the system. The problem being that they’re there, mise works just fine.

Looks nice. It didn't add fish shell, only zsh and rather difficult to get it to use it as default. If I had had fish setup in the /etc/shells correctly, it probably would have used it but after the fact, I can get it to load

I would imagine a big reason for not making the effort was convenience. If they make Unionpay more convenient to use then people will likely be more likely to switch.

Absolutely. On that subject, I prefer the Atlassian method for storing dotfiles in git but sometimes I feel like it's Mootools vs jQuery all over again.
