I feel AWS ate Rackspace's lunch. Rackspace were never part of the affordable hosting segment. I think DigitalOcean ate the shared PHP hosters' lunch.

I've used DigitalOcean, Linode, Vultr. All have had OK ticket-based support. There are horror stories out there for each one.

Something I recently missed emacs for, was being able to use it to transparent edit a file over SSH. I couldn't find an easy way to do that with IntelliJ/phpstorm.
