I would think Lint rules are better for encouraging this and has no run time implications. Easy escape hatches as well if you really want to crack the firewall to ship something urgently.

Love the new design, it adds a feel to the project that many others lack. Compare it to https://www.python.org/ for example which is perfectly functional but squint and you could be on any page on the internet.
