On firefox I get a thing that says "we need to update really quick, sorry!" You click "ok" and the browser restarts and reloads everything. Seems to be a pretty good solution to the problem you describe.

I hear this dev tools argument occasionally, but I don't really get it. The Firefox dev tools seem just as good to me. What am I missing?

Huh, I also work in downtown Seattle but have never experienced any of this. I very rarely see shit/vomit, have never seen a needle on a bus, have never been spit at or attacked.

I had exactly one prof who would live code in class, and I learned the by far the most in his classes. Highly recommend this approach to anyone teaching anything code related.

I love fzf. I recently discovered that installing a fast search tool like ripgrep makes fzf _way_ faster over large directory trees. https://github.com/BurntSushi/ripgrep

I've been using alacritty, another new-ish GPU accelerated terminal emulator, and I can confirm that its performance is better than gnome-terminal or similar. So at least there is something to this idea.
