Great point. The Fitbit app does not answer common medical questions or give you a simple check of how you're doing. I do'nt have the premium Fitbit account so I'm not sure if they do there. But to me this is a failing on mos

Hi Dr.Scump we are actually not tracking location all the time. Just significant location change every 10 minutes or so. Users don't need to select this permission if they don't want to. Hope this helps.
