Perhaps what I said was ambiguous. The error message is from the OpenVR support. The OSVR support wouldn't have such an error message because the rendering support wasn't implemented in the first place. I understand the reluctance

Have you tried it? It spams "[GFX1]: SharedSurfaceType::Basic not supported for WebVR" to the console and doesn't send any frames to the SteamVR compositor. And as I understand it, the OSVR implementation never even bothered
