It’s laughable to compare fundraising today to 15 years ago. You won’t get capital let alone VC if you’re not AI. It’s infected everything much like crypto did just 3-4 years ago.

I mentioned this then other day, my university class had maybe 80% of people who could not code. No joke. And a lot have gone onto to code professionally. AI is a godsend to this cohort of code monkies. Edit: we graduated in 2006.

He also made the most beautiful hand crafted woodwork I’ve seen. I dunno, I feel my comparison is more apt. AI tries to anything & everything. A powered drill just drills, and saves your arm/wrist from a manual drill.

I reckon powertools is the wrong comparison, my grandfather was a cabinetmaker(born in the 1930's) and he never shied away from using a powertool & any contractors/tradesman largely raves about their favourite brand of powerto

The problem with both views is it ignores lived experience. Everyone knows people at the top get paid more, even in socialist/communist societies this is the case. Now whether this is because of birth privilege, good social connections

Where I used to live an elderly gent rode a very low to ground bike. Looked a lot like the silly motorbikes some peeps do. I imagine they’re out there for sale.

I’d take the re-election of Trump to mean the US isn’t a serious society/people anymore. I don’t say that lightly, and it’s certainly not just the US that has that problem either. Australia, where I live, is infected with it.

Ask a contractor/tradie what brand their power tools are and they won’t shutup. They also don’t sign their work because we don’t want them to. If you’re too lazy to write your own code, at least let others know as such.

And if there’s no easy way to realise said gain? Who wants to buy 1/100 of Sally’s flower shop or Joe’s neighbourhood butcher shop? If any government wants a cut of people’s equity they should be bankrolling it in the first place.
