I saw the popup a month or so ago for the first time, and 10 days ago after that. Simply manually updating uBlockOrigin filters did it for me both times.

What pisses me off is that some legitimate websites like project goutenberg are all blocked by my Internet provider in Italy and I have to go through a VPN to access them. Same for scribd, vdoc, libgen and so on.

"pure" in the context of functional programming often means "without side effects", so writing a log file, interacting with a database and so on would also make the function not pure

It always plays the video for a few seconds the first time, than goes back to the beginning and plays it correctly till the end. God forbid if you try to mute/unmute it. On Firefox at least.
