I am older and seen a lot of tech come and go. RISC-V feels to me like something that will be huge. There is so much momentum already. Not many things catch on that quick. But when they do they end up huge.

Big difference is Android on ChromeOS is using the Linux kernel that is part of ChromeOS. Here Android will be on top of Zircon. Which is the fuchsia kernel. Now gnu/linux on ChromeOS is using a completely different Linux kernel. It

One things that is not talked about a lot is parallelism in terms of kernel and I/O. There is the aspects of an application but what about system code? If read the FlexSC paper and using multiple cores you can see some pretty incredibl

Also where the momentum is at is using Linux. More are moving from proprietary solutions to using Linux. Suspect that will continue to happen.

I believe this is similar to what we will see with Zircon as a default. Why I believe multi core performance with Zircon will exceed the same with Linux. The big question is single core? You do not have the benefit. But I do think Google

Just makes sense. They will move to Fuchsia and is starting the process of moving away from the "Android" brand. We have seen it already with Wear OS and other places.

Interesting stuff. I thought one of the most interesting papers at NIPS this year was using GPU or TPU for intelligent indexes. https://arxiv.org/abs/1712.01208 Paper is from Jeff Dean and a worth while read, IMO.

Poorly managed? They have now grown over 20% the last ten quarters and now over 26% the last two. Since the beginning never declined for a quarter YoY. Even though the great recession. That is pretty hard to do.
