Why not just detect which browser is viewing the site and not show the progress bar for mobile and safari browsers? That should solve this "double watch" issue.

I still prefer LAMP. One trick to improving cache on LAMP is converting or caching files into HTML. I know there are a number of templating engines like Smarty out there that will do just that, but what I mean is actually converting dynamic

This is a wonderful idea. I've thought of doing the same with Twilio. You could also make it a little more secure with Twilio by only opening the gate (dialing "9") for specific phone numbers that call in - for example your friend's number
