I very much prefer using Vim, but the debugging experience is much better in VSCode. The language server experience in VSCode is also better (though vim is getting there!), and there are many other small trade-offs that one may prefer. Emac

I can't imaging a project aimed at reverse engineers would be the best place to try to hide that sort of thing. Ghidra is open source, you are free to audit and build it yourself if you are concerned.

Ligatures in coding fonts is a good workaround for giving people options on what they see. I personally dislike ligatures, but I work with people who do like them. They want to see ≠, but typing ≠ instead of != in a shared code base is not
