Interesting. You're all acting like a swarm of ants in downvoting me. Think about it.

You claim insects are like "machines" that "mercilessly slaughter". If insects have no sentient attributes like mercy, how can they slaughter others mercilessly? You can't have your cake and eat it too. Also: what you hate, you fear.

I'm not a "meater" and yet I like imitation meat. Maybe a fake hot dog on the rare occasion. I concur with everything else you said though.

Not to derail too much, but insects are much misunderstood and wrongly vilified, which is why I wrote Take the Humane Stance with Ants: http://allsprawldown.com/animal-ethics/taking-an-ethical-sta... Please share this with someone who is

I left Facebook, but not to join anything else. I sometimes scratch my head why I signed up in the first place. If family or friends want to reach me, email has held up surprisingly well over the years.

Sheeple mentality for the most part. I will be downvoted into oblivion for saying it, but it's true.

Depends on how in love you are with the idea. If you feel like you could own it, and really do something special with it, then do it. However, if it's really about money - save your energy.

I think Page and Plant did know. We learn and live by how others react to us. It's how we get a sense of who we are, how "good looking" and "smart" we are. It's a constant process of self and peer evaluation and grading, although often impl

I said much the same thing about the Megaupload debacle: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4047683 I see it here all the time, by users with extremely high karma.

I think you've got to be more proactive about securing a domain name nowadays. You wait and it could be gone (it's happened to me before). It sucks though, because I end up with lots of domains I thought were good and had every intention of

This is a deceptive and manipulative title that preys on a sensitive issue during hard economic times. You should be ashamed.

Whoa. Awesome job. Looks good even on my iPhone. I'll be using it for my home page. I recommend submitting this website again in a few days. It deserves more attention.

I was debating whether to use Office 365 or another Microsoft variant for awhile now, but this update is really snappy. Debate is over.

Maybe it's because I often use Facebook on behalf of retail businesses and consumer brands, but I've found Facebook's disregard for privacy unnerving for years now? And you haven't?

Looking back at some of the earlier HN conversations, when Megaupload was first shut down by the US, you can see those who made damning accusations and blind assumptions that Megaupload were guilty. These people should be ashamed. They are

I agree. Selling on Flippa effectively kills any brand goodwill Sortfolio had. Worse yet, not responding to the questions being asked will ensure the site won't be sold.

I agree the TV image is a bit NSFW. It disqualifies the site from me ever showing my daughters. I'm not sure why (as I'm a heterosexual guy) but these kind of photos seem to dumb the content down and I feel like I should have a Coors Light

I was reluctant to check your link out with a name like "mission statement". It's one of the most unfun names I've seen, but I like the idea. Glad I checked it out. P.S. Call it Zingr or something.
