   The problem with the US is that is does not have a credible peer, it could have been China but they are about to pop their real estate bubble and the EU is not as strong as it should be, so who is on par?

   It seems hard to reconcile taking the Bible literally and being an empiricist. Downright impossible if you are a geologist.
