My cynical interpretation is that the current CEO needed to begin taking steps to meet this 2030 goal and determined they didn't make financial sense. The 2050 goal is also unrealistic but is his successor's problem.

This isn't enforced in New York. Every delivery guy in the city is now riding an e-bike. They're a menace. Their bikes weigh a ton and they occasionally utilize the sidewalks. I had a friend who was knocked to the ground by one.

I really liked this. I wish more negative results such as this were published and discussed, especially when they go against general intuition and feel-good narratives.
