Yes I'm quite interested in a foldable from Apple. Have been since I got an 7" Acer Android tablet ~13 years ago and was annoyed at the necessity of carrying 2 devices.

TikTok (ironically) has a bunch of anti-brainrot content, I think the Xteinks got popular that way. Super easy to use and even flash to 3rd party firmware.

How do you go about generating the garbage data? Bunch of ESP32s with rngs in the same subnet?

I guess I don’t look at company Wikipedia pages very often but this one seems particularly “written by corporate”.

I'm in <other US city>. It's possible to earn enough to buy property here. I already have a mortgage (as an immigrant, building a credit score from credit cards which in turn qualifies you easily for a mortgage is pretty nic

This does remind me of driving on the western edge of the Dead Sea in 2014 with my family. The only device we had that was capable of 3G-less navigation was my Nokia Lumia 620 (windows phone) with bing maps. I had maps downloaded for all of

Out of all the annoying website things, always thought that one was pretty tame. Almost feels like a spiritual successor to the visit-o-meter. Obviously as long is it doesn't put a (1) on my tab or makes a noise and doesn't steal

I'm very well aware it's a me problem, anime just isn't for me and it's super popular. I'm honestly surprised that a single person seemed to agree with me.

Yes, I do believe not having a pfp at all would be better (for disclosing CVEs or sharing a statement about disbanding the nixpkgs team). By all means use any pfp for normal forum purposes.

I will tell on myself here but having an anime pfp evokes something childish for me and I do judge the user based on it. I expect to be judged similarly because I use the album art for a favorite album of mine as a pfp on the same platform

I don’t mind the internet being a weird place and enjoy the weirdness that exists in places like the NixOS community. I’m fully aware that the software I use has been built by extremely smart people who seem to like anime. It’s just that my

In my mind Nix is too strong of an idea and once this community finally self-immolates, someone else is going to pick it up (maybe Determinate) and it'll continue on.

On the other hand, if you are a casual and want to dominate 99% races you enter at people's homes, pick Toadette (with Mr. Scooty). I don't think I've lost since 2019.

Ghostty has chosen to use that as the default and I feel like it's going to be the tipping point where people will assume $HOME/Library/Application Support is normal for CLI programs.

I think NIMBYism around the world is often "to keep out the poors", they don't have to be black. Slots in my theory that a lot of racism is just classism.

Somebody posted on HN before about an eruv index, that’s how I found my city had one as well[0]. I assume they got sort of popular around Jewish neighborhoods. [0] https://eruv-columbus.com/

Feeding stray cats and feeding birds are very different things, pretty much at odds with each other. If a stray cat is fed, birds have a more difficult time surviving.

It's really amusing when you tour something like Casa Loma[0] in Toronto (a gothic revival house) and then compare it to the Darwin Martin house[1] in Buffalo, which was built basically 10 years before. I can't imagine visiting a

404media is heavily invested in the anti-datacenter reporting. I'm still subscribed to their RSS feed and like half the posts are datacenter focused (often with a misleading angle).

There are templates for deploying NixOS but almost all that I've encountered are heavily opinionated and thus only kinda work for specific people (usually the ones that designed them). Then when you want to customize them it's alm

I settled on that after trying to be extra careful with TOTP. Now my split is 95% of passwords, TOTP codes and passkeys in 1Password, 5% (really important stuff like email) in an offline KeePass DB + passkeys on Yubikeys.
