Or for people who find it convenient to type/write an 8 character email address in non-word-of-mouth communication, which is the majority of email address communication anyway. I own the domain hip.st for this purpose.

HD595s aren't worth buying directly. It's cheaper to buy HD555s and mod them. They have the exact same driver, with a piece of sound dampening material that can be removed. http://mikebeauchamp.com/misc/sennhe

Re [0]: If you never want your data downsampled, keep data at a single resolution which is equal to the flush interval used to push data to Graphite. Carbon will never "change your data" under such a configuration. Re [1]: How wou

Interesting. I'm curious about the legality of a company putting all or most prospective employees through a 'trial run' as an independent contractor before hiring them. Ignoring feasibility of attracting talent in such a system, are there

I taught myself to code by writing bots for EVE. At the height of it, I was running something like 13 accounts without paying a dime out of pocket by buying time cards for in-game currency ISK. Most of my money came from bots performing mar

If you're looking for more mashups, check out Girl Talk, Milkman, and Super Mash Bros. If you're looking for similar electronic music sets, here are a couple I've been digging lately: Kaskade's set from Coachella, soundboard recording. htt

Personally I use a pair of Shure SE-215-K in-ear monitors with the "Shure CBL-M+-K" cable that includes in-cord mic and volume adjustment. That cord will work with any in-ear monitor in the Shure SE line. I highly recommend this route if yo

Please don't actually buy HD 595s. The audio driver is exactly the same as the one contained within the HD 555s, the only difference besides the price tag and model label is that they just stick an (easily removable) sound dampener inside t

Interesting that you'd switch from Skitch if it had that feature set. I can't imagine a scenario where I'd ever prefer to hit, from a page I'd like a screenshot of: > cmd+l, cmd+c, cmd+t, sna, <down-arrow>, enter, tab, cmd

Assuming that this is the reason for his inability to access HN, why would a ban have been made at the IP level but not at the account level?

Are you unable to access HN from https:// as well as http:// ? I know of some recent issues where some Comcast ip ranges in San Francisco were unable to access the site without switching to https.

I did not in any way expect this to be a serious windfall for me. I also didn't mean to imply that this was a windfall for investors (who were merely reimbursed), or anyone but founders (albeit a small one for them). Also, while IANAL, that

The major advantage I see with this over HipChat is that you can use existing IRC client software to connect. Personally, I'd much prefer Irssi in a terminal to an Adobe AIR product.

More concerning, what happens to the hundreds of millions of people who don't have a domain to even be (or not be) a rockstar in? When unskilled labor available outstrips demand for unskilled labor, we start to see college diplomas as a req
