I would recommend automating these kind of tests using a test framework. If you do it right, the scripted tests will also serve as a documentation. Look into tools like Robot Framework, Cucumber etc.

This is a great angle I haven't thought of. I'm guessing passively looking candidates might be quite a big chunk of the market. Given a financially interesting offer they might apply for a job which they would otherwise just skim

Absolutely! Public company email is mandatory, I didn't even consider having a job ad without it. Good point about the application form, it sure makes the applicant feel like just another record in a database.
