I have pretty much the same setup. The only thing that bothers me with navidrome+feishin is that gapless playback is not working perfectly. Also, a great resource for discovering new music is the public library. They often have a curated CD

> Can't people see any usecase for the steam machine? The only problem with the Steam Machine is the price tbh, and that's mainly Valve having a really bad luck with timing once again. Having a custom-made "Steam Machine&q

This has been my experience as well. - Claude writes User Stories, supervised by the PO. - Claude is in charge of the implementation, supervised by the devs. - Claude does the PR review. - If a comment is made by a human, someone c/p w

I usually switch between DuckDuckGo and Startpage. Both are good.

I really need to find the time to properly test Zed. I'm mainly using PHP Storm and I love what it can do, especially when it comes to code discovery and auto-completion. I'm not a huge fan of having a bloated toolbox, I never use

I bought a used laptop with the help of ChatGPT last month and was amazed. It helped me narrow the model that suited my needs based on my prompts. I needed to renew my old Thinkpad T480. It also helped me find an ad and negociate with the s

I switch between VS Code and MarkText. It does the job perfectly.

I thought it would be a problem as well but it turns out I absolutely never edit my notes on two machines at once. The commit/push/pull is done via a simple bash script that I'm running as a build command inside VS Code.

Like many I've been looking for the best note-taking app for years. And somehow I always come back to a bunch of markdown files inside a Git repo.

I personally use a hard drive in my house, and a cold storage solution (Glacier) from a reputable provider.

Yeah disc rot is a real problem. CD/DVD-R are great when it comes to physically store drives (they don't take much space on a shelf and are easely sent via mail) but I'd rather use a hard drive and the cloud for my backups no

As others said, the only thing you should be looking for is a drive that works with Accuraterip. Ripping discs from my local library is a hobby of mine and I've discovered so much music from there. I still buy CDs from thrift shops and

I'm in a never-ending cycle of wanting to find a better monospace font, spending countless hours looking through various alternatives and coming back to the one I'm currently using. After using Ubuntu Mono for many many years I&#x

I'm a Garmin user as I find the hardware to be very reliable but the market is in deep need of an Open Source alternative. Let's not forget Garmin was victim of a ransomware attack in 2020 and they finally paid $10 million after d

This might be a minor thing, but does anyone know if a full pardon will allow him to use an electronic device or access the internet? Often times, people convicted of crimes related to an online activity are forbidden this right, and I wond

The problem with passkey is that it's obscure for the common folk. I'm a developer, yet for some odd reason I'm having a hard time understanding passkeys. Are they synced between devices? Do I need to set up a passkey per dev

I like the idea of a stream of knowledge in one file, I usually used the Saved Messages in Telegram for that. I'd rather use Markdown though, for the formatting capabilities alone.

I used to be part of the music scene back in '95 and it basically changed my life. I'm so proud to have a presence somewhere in the dark corners of the scene.org FTP.

This is what I personally do. I have small needs when it comes to backups (< 1TB), so I have one backup that's just a regular HDD stored in a drawer, and another one that's on a Scaleway cold storage container.

I don't get Tailwind. In my book, CSS is here to facilitate the style of multiple webpages by modifying a set of rules, and classes are here to mutualise said rules. With Tailwind, it looks like you design by writing HTML, which is the

I've had the pleasure to build a small website with Kirby and it was such a joy to use as a developer. The only problem I faced was with my client as he was used to Wordpress and making the transition to Kirby was a bit rough for him.
