"Shaving the Yak" is great. However I often think of the MITM video when in these situations; and personally refer to it as "Hal's Tangent" which has a kind of philosophical/mathematics feel to it.

How is this new? I can create a proxy server now, and I can share it with a friend and they can use my internet connection. They can do the same. This is new because, It's likely easier to use, and it's all done in the browser. T

Get an IRC client that supports plug-ins and scripts and create your own tools. I use IRSSI and there are loads of scripts available to use as a starting point.

Use them all? Try them out and decide for yourself? I think you'll find we are in the lucky position where we have lots of options. Each option can be a viable solution, most stuff comes down to personal knoledge, experience and preference.

I have no idea about any formal definition of the term cloud. I'm sure there are a few! The cloud image as "the internet" is classic. It's almost certainly the reason for "cloud" computing today.

A problem that imo doesn't exist. A tablet is different to a phone is different to a desktop computer. This OS may be "solving" some problems, but it seems to be doing it at a cost, reducing functionality on the desktop. Besides, who even /
