I think it’s safe to say that by “We” we can assume it would be your country and its allies. War and spying has been a thing for a long time now. I think it’s unreasonable to expect countries to not make use of their respective industries

This may be true, but until when? PRC can demand anytime and have you part of a botnet. Are you comfortable leaving it in their hands?

We may joke about it, but the fact is that it's releasing dumb ideas like this that you sometimes get masterpieces. Maybe this one is really just one of the bad ones, but eventually Elon will have some good ones just like he already ha

You can use Copilot and a bunch of new Agents such as augment and firebender which are very good. In the worst case you’ll still be able to use AI tooling similar or equal to what you have in VS code. Even Windsurf has an JetBrains plugin.

Critics are a minuscule part of the audience. Also reviews can be bought. To be actually successful a game needs to capture the target audience (gamers). Problem is there seems to be a huge disconnect between critics and gamers gamers now

Gacha + waifus is definitely a huge hit. Especially because it also capture the female audience. Also cosplays on conventions do free advertising. (see Genshin Impact) Never seen western studios release a game of this genre.
