What is the benefit of having multiple compilers for programming languages? Is there a scenario where a GCC compiled rust program would do something that an LLVM one can't do? Doesn't this cause fragmentation in the rust ecosystem

To be honest, I think the point of the article is to list some of the reason way Linux is not for average users. And they talk about Windows since it's the most used desktop OS. Hopefully one day Linux would be the goto desktop OS.
