   Wow, that's a lot of RAM for a SBC. To give a rough idea, that 8GB chip is the same kind that's used in the 256GB DDR4 modules (2x8 chips per side, 2 sides).

   Once you work at the electronic components level, RAM (and EEPROMs, etc.) is often specified in bits instead of bytes. The custom of using bytes only applies when specifying higher-level computer components.
