I just hope we don't sling shot back to individualistic ownership driven economy (as opposed to sharing economy). Sincerely hoping that after the dust settles there is a tiny bit of forward progress.

If the aim was to design something modern and minimalistic , the fading gradient at the end of letter 'C' somewhat destroys the point. Clear boundaries would improve the clarity and enhance applicability (on stationaries, prints, etc). I do

I am not in doubt about these statistics, but the perceived reality is far from what Google is trying to suggest. From my personal experience G+ is still a ghost town (as far as seeing activity from my friends).

I thought it was very odd that Google inserted this paragraph in the beginning of a feature announcement blog post. I think it only reaffirms the inferiority complex of G+ by explicitly explaining that they are indeed a vibrant community.

I would be surprised to see this call service take off. Isn't the whole notion of using social network like LinkedIn (asynchronously) phone call (synchronous and disrupting) alternative in the first place?

I would love to see Duracell or Energizer jump into the competition given that their business may have significant impact once these devices are out. I know I, for one, will throw away battery powered peripherals.
