I buy Nike running shoes because they are cheap, durable and comfortable, I don't actually use the to run. The other obvious answer to this question is "because they are status symbols", for some people anyway.

Today they rolled some kind of upgrade and my backend become unreachable for hours, this is not my first problem with them. I assembled a quick docker-compose.yml and moved to Hetzner. Fly is pushing a lot of blog worthy stuff but it is not

OptiX is not an Intel technology, both CUDA and OptiX rendering backends for Blender's Cycles are powered by Nvidia.

Today a Blender beta version with HIP support has been released. This is working on RDNA hardware (RDNA2 officially supported, RDNA1 enabled but not supported). I guess a release date for ROCm is approaching after all.
