The world runs on software. AI makes it easier to create more software, but it still requires humans to keep running and decide what to do. Maybe each individual project will need less pure coders, but there might be a lot more projects?

In general, they were not. You're probably thinking of the very niche and unsuccessful Maemo/MeeGo project - eg Nokia N900 - that were indeed Linux-based. But everything else smartphone-ish from Nokia before Lumia (Windows Phone)

For lots of workloads it is basically true, though. Not something exclusive to Apple laptops of course, others have also been capable programming workhorses for quite some years. It's just weird to say that no compiling should be done
