Great post. I’m the founder of Inbox Zero. Open source ai email assistant. It does a much better job of drafting emails than the Gemini version you shared. Works out your tone based off of past conversations.

You can have open source and still charge for it. For example, getinboxzero.com or posthog.com or cal.com. Many others too. Projects use different licenses for enterprise and regular features. Cal does that for example. Novu doesn’t commit

Yeah. Search isn't the issue. Even inbox zero people archive all their emails anyway. They don't delete them. Inbox 20,000 makes sense for a lot of people btw. Depends on your work and how important being organised with your email

Yes. There are already a few features it offers beyond the newsletter cleaner like the AI automation with more to come. The overall goal of the app is to help manage email better. It could turn into a full fledged email app one day too.
