Simple is not always easy. Too simple can be difficult to grasp and sometimes adding a little complexity can actually make something more intuitive and easier. DNS is simple, but it is not necessarily easy to understand.

I used Gandi's email service as just an SMTP service to send notifications from various scripts and apps. Any alternatives I can use? Ideally actual SMTP and not some API, some apps I use only support the SMTP protocol.

For keys used in authentication, I feel like rotation largely just protects against keys being leaked. If you can enforce keys to exist only on a secure element then to me I feel like rotation is no longer needed in this particular scenario
