Doesn't the US have an active contractor market like the UK? In the UK there are lots of job boards with a contract filter and many recruitment agents deal exclusively in contracts rather than perm roles. Is this different in the US?

I agree with Alan Weiss, lawyers are unprofessional and mostly terrible at maximising income. They charge 1:1 hours to fees which is a bad deal for a professional.

Hourly is unprofessional and a conflict of interest with your client. The worst deal I would sign is a day rate (no logging hours) but fixed scope/duration is far better.

That’s called being an independent contractor. Twice the pay, move projects at the end of a contract etc. this is often done by more experienced candidates.

That’s not what ‘immutable ledger’ means. An equally weighted credit can balance out a debit on an immutable ledger. I think ledgers are generally supposed to be immutable.
