My kids had insurance through their mom, because she made shitty pay, but good benefits. She lost her job and put them on state medicaid plan. Suddenly my son who has never had a cavity in his life needed 6 fillings. I took him to my dent

Airbnb does this already. I used to work remote and they have digital nomad housing... Specially WiFi and private workspace as part of the amenities you can require.

My device *not theirs. That's the reason I don't buy Apple stuff to begin with.

I would be upset because I bought the hardware and they arbitrarily won't let my music from Spotify play on it while their own music does. Remember it's my device, but theirs. Not apples. If they are going to allow third party app

I'm still making the poor choice. I had kids, started raising them in a small town and missed the boat on going out west or wherever to follow they money. About $60k is average software developer pay around here. I finally break 6 figu

Google's army of lawyers and cash reserves keeps patent trolls away. Pt try to go after little and medium companies who don't have the time or resources to fight back. It's way cheaper to write a check and make the problem go

Agreed. My previous company has to deal with trolls like this. They somehow managed a patent on turning 2d pictures into 3d panoramas which Google and iPhone do in the phones. We used software from Germany but since it violated the patent

Hasn't this been known for a while? My personal trainer has a degree in this stuff and he was telling me muscle mitochondria never go away once grown and that was years ago.

The end result of this is a bunch of trolls in Russia might be out of a job soon and get replaced by a server farm running in the target country pumping out similar but not identical stories. What this might usher in is the era of cryptogra

I just took a job taking over for a retiring guy in a factory and he wrote everything in vb6 and ladder logic which I swear looks exactly like Delphi. Ladder logic itself is annoying as hell to work with but I do like the little bits of Del

The new layout is annoyingly modern but I do like the ability to read an article and go back to the list without reloading the page. Now if res can just be updated for the new site to further fix all the little niceties. The fast use switch

I just want to say the title on yc is so much better than the original. Making something cheaper and simple is innovation. Reverse innovation is ambiguous and confusing.

That seems unfair and wrong. I'm forced to have a job to pay my bills and I get to pick my job but that doesn't exactly mean it's without my consent. I also have the choice of not working or wiring some other job. I would say

Where is this business located? Our city has a real estate boom going on. The landlord night honor the lease rather than incur the cost of fighting it but would be unlikely to renew with that attitude. Then again evicting a person is hard e

There's a ton of places to work. If you don't like how they treat you up front then don't bother applying. If it's not web design usually it's the engineer coding the company not the other way around.

Basically because that's what your contract agreed to. I have something similar. I have 3 sick days per year and if I don't use them they become vacation PTO for next year. Regular pto doesn't roll over but sick days do.

For me it doesn't. It's a quick way to see that I made a typo when a keyword doesn't turn the right color, or that I closed a strong with the wrong quote Mark.
