I feel like that's a broad and general comparison. It would be equal to ask that of the UK during the height of their reach. To do any real comparison you need to isolate something quantifiable. For example, languages. Latin influence

This is a real example of what I was alluding to. Environmental impact isn't all polar ice caps and methane gas. An unprofessionally dug hole is a LIABILITY. But personally attacking strangers on the internet is acceptable too.
