Exactly. Disk encryption simplifies a stolen device to a VISA problem. As in, no problem, I will just buy another one. At these RAM and storage prices, maybe not.

I am using Tang and Clevis without a TPM on an Orange Pi 5. The key is stored on my Tang server. No TPM required. It is either on my LAN with that server available, or you will need to enter a key. It am only trying to prevent casual snoo

In the last couple of years, my only contact with Zoom is the scam webinar invitations from month old domains. At this point I probably wouldn’t realize a legitimate Zoom meeting was legitimate.

I recall that full length movies on VCD were usually two discs to get decent quality. Not needing to get up and switch discs because you could use divx or xvid instead was a real life improvement.

I often drink a 12 cup pot in a day. No noticeable effects. Why are coffee cups smaller than cups? Maybe I’m just slow, but it makes doing the mental math a lot more difficult than it needs to be. Maybe I just need more coffee.

The chat server was the only thing I was sharing anyway, so it ended up on a boxing day sale VPS. Everything else became an internal service. I thought it would eventually drive me crazy, but to this day I regret nothing.

A Raspberry Pi 5 16GB is $425CAD right now ($300 USD) which isn’t a huge gap. The price on SBCs is insanity right now because they have RAM.
