I think they (businesses) often pick OpenSSL exactly because it's not GPL licensed so it's kind of chicken and egg

Weird experience you had there. I have been to many IRC channels on Freenode and found pretty much all of them abusive and unfriendly with the big exception being #emacs, where people seem to be more open and tolerant, also very helpful. I

it won't die. it will be used for years by millions of users. that some company stops issuing security updates for a software means nothing to most users. it probably will even make them more happy because they are not nagged by update

if you have sshd on 22 you get 1000 hack attempts per day. if you move it somewhere else you probably get none the whole day. the chance to get hacked is way higher. why would you not want to lower the risk?

I switched to Dvorak a few months ago. It's much better than I expected. The switch was painful and it took like 3 months to get fast enough. Compared to Qwerty writing Dvorak is so much easier on the hands. I would say the strain is r
