I love Tattered Cover but to be fair the folks that bought it in 2020 ran it into the ground. It was barely limping along, you'd go in and because of their debt issues they weren't stocking the shelves so you'd be pressed to

Agree. web components are not a 1 to 1 replacement for a component based framework. There was a lot of promise but the implementation is lacking.

Glad they reversed but they could have saved themselves those losses if they had an understanding of what their customers wanted. Anyone putting together a NAS will want full control over the drive selection.

I used Tcl a lot early in my career, building sites for the web using Vignette StoryServer as well as AOLServer. It powered a lot of the early 2000s web.

100% agree with Carmack. There was a craft in writing software that I feel has been lost with access to inexpensive memory and compute. Programmers can be inefficient because they have all that extra headroom to do so which just contributes
