Out west, it is essentially the same except Telus owns most all of the phone/DSL/CDMA infrastructure, and Shaw owns all the cable infrastructure.

Oh interesting! I attended that University (somewhat briefly, as my lack of funds did not allow me to really finish my degree). CMPUT172 must have been discontinued shortly after these notes as from 2003 onwards they only offer CMPUT272 - F

Back up for me as well now. Performance is certainly slow and getting a few server errors, but that's more than there was a few minutes ago.
