Your workflow may be good, I don't mean to judge that. But is not the rails way to be in the shell, rails console and editor at all times? Instead of trying things out in the browser you have automated testing doing that for you?

No, but are they really as fun as one thinks? I mean, theyre cool because theyre small, but other than that it's nothing I could not do with any other computer. That is, run debian. Or maybe I just don't get the fun of them?

It has. But there is still the ol' quirks. I had problems with sounds on ubuntu on my ThinkPad. I had to install XFCE for it to play nice with 2 monitors (since the gpu in the old laptop is kind of sucky). But Macosx has even worse compabil

Well, C is made for keyboards. In fact, every programming language I can think of is, so the ones who write with tts must create new languages.
