Agreed. Luckily my favorite purchases are on steam and 2 years gives me plenty of time to move on from my rift. I'm not going to be forced to use facebook. Last thing I need is a remote exploit on my tracking cameras and facebook telli

It's already taking(taken) off. I don't think any of the 3 points up top are typically valid and linked together. I use an "old" oculus rift setup that is tethered to my desktop with a 1070ti. The only batteries to speak

Exactly. It doesn’t improve anything other than sun setting old tech that is no longer viable to support.

I write enterprise software for fortune 100 companies. If I put myself in the user’s shoes and had an alternative, I’d most likely uninstall what we built and jump ship. But they can’t. It’s an internal app and the user is forced to use it.
