The problem is you document your use, which is problematic for those who own firearms, work in information security, etc.

I worked on a public project in the South Bay and the corruption runs deep. Spend 15k on Airbnb in a week for one person? Expense approved. Seems everyone took a cut somehow.

It’s hard when you don’t have enough PTO. I’ll go across the world for 2 weeks and spend 3-4 days “working”. Everyone knows what’s up, it’s barely classified as work. But it allows me to adjust my body clock and due to the time difference I

I think connect() is for TCP, at least it is in C. As UDP is stateless you have to call send() for each packet.

Personally I don’t want to marry and lose half my worth, so a child is unlikely. The courts are heavily biased towards women, and even the general public looks down upon a man alone with children. I’ve spent time with a girlfriends kids and

I have a home in an area without an HOA and I have had a 100% resolution rate by just talking and explaining. Being decent and pragmatic goes a long way.

Open discussion was never acceptable, even here on HN. I was quickly downvoted for saying anything against masking and vaccinations. Not even objecting, mere questions elicited this reaction.

Another reason to avoid HOAs at all costs, over the lifetime of the property the cost is astronomical. Unfortunately all the newer homes have HOAs in my area. I am stuck with older homes or I have to buy a lot and build to get something mod

The most level headed and logical response I’ve seen regarding this conflict. It always comes down to money.

I always refuse and they seem to be upset but the repair has always been completed. Apple should be ashamed of themselves.

Never give your password to Apple. They make it sound like your machine will be wiped if you dont, but I always refuse and I’ve never lost data. I back it up just in case. Never ever give your data away.

Why does this even exist? More explicit tracking and more ads.. plus: > monthly fee of about $7. Just another tax.

It absolutely is racist and dividing the country more and more. It’s not ok to hate white people.

It doesn’t exist. Curiously my company employs few folks of Asian descent but I never see this raised anywhere in D&I material.

As a hiring manager I have substantial pressure to hire incompetent people to meet quotas. I confronted my recruiter in front of witnesses and was partially shunned. I have been hiring for many years, and I truly pay no attention to gender

Grease films are typically detected by the user. Better to dust the keys with a UV sensitive powder and inspect the ATM after pin entry.

I use a 5 year old app on an airgapped device along with old firmware on my drones for precisely this reason. It has no nanny features and allows me to be responsible for my own actions without surveillance. With that said - yes, my drone i

Washing does, too. I launder my clothing grouped by fabric density to avoid “pulling”. Works reasonably well.

You must always think you can do anything, push yourself to do and be better. Don’t let negativity enter your mind, with this thinking everything is possible.
