I use delicious for 5 years and keep a local, sync copy to make it possible to program, so that I can develop my own desktop tools. I mean, a free Pinboard was a solution for me when I was looking for a good alternative of delicious, 2 year

I search my bookmarks with grep thanks to a local, plain text copy of them. It's so fast and can be programmed in a way that I can search I bookmarks before I open my browser. There are way better architectures to have an unsocial bookmarki

Not even close, too. Instead of measuring load time, you can create "<a>" elements verify their rendered color is the color you defined for visited links. It's a trick of old times...
