yeah it’s complete buyin from senior execs to business leaders, to business side employees who are tasked with being product owner. no such thing as a tech lead, organization got flattened out etc.

my enterprise has gone full tilt. open offices, w/ hot desking and instead of laptops its a thin client. so yeah when you need or want to work from home you have to use the slow citrix client. fun..

no, the issue is that part of the team ends up in one conference room with 1 shitty conference phone. people don't speak up loud enough, don't speak into the mic, etc.. look up cisco ix5000 which is what I'm talking about. i

we do that on many days, but the audio quality is so much better on the "mainframe" cisco setup.

Yeah the conference rooms sound terrible from an audio stand point but we have these rooms with these huge cisco telepresence things. the audio is incredible. the video is good and helps because I can see body language.

yes they do. in Dallas i’m next to a 900 home development. many of the homes are 1 story with a yard only big enough for maybe keeping a dog

some of the spending just saw on my trip was mind blowing. Acres of granite pavers and timber decking in new parks. Huge new city walls in place of ancient ones. (protecting them they call it)

Yeah there’s a thousand vice presidents at my location that make 160k which in TX is a high wage. they don’t have high productivity compared to a real tech company. it’s all manual bureaucratic work.

well my team builds the software to please regulators so all the original specs were signed off by legal and regulators. the next generation of each project simply fork lifts that data and massages the logic until it matches up
