Author here. I've been thinking about minimal models of evolution. I concluded that you need information to be copied with some transformation, some death, and a way for the information in question to encode its ability to avoid death.

Ya, it depends on the upstream timeout for the process. I'm pretty sure to default for gunicorn is 30 seconds. After that the process will be killed, which kills the thread.

Granted, but the idea is that they would have to compromise Github, Twitter, a private domain, and more before performing a successful attack. That's considerably more complex than targeting one service.
