   I would recommend Vernor Vinge. A Fire Upon the Deep / A Deepness in the Sky are both excellent. Also relevant to this particular thread, his book Rainbow's End features AR/wearable technology.

   Noticed an issue. Some, but not all, comments referencing Strunk and White's Elements of Style are showing up instead as Erin Gates' Elements of Style: Designing a Home & a Life
